A 56-year-old Waste Management employee was found unresponsive next to a construction dumpster in a Collinwood Township driveway Wednesday, July 1.
From 2001 to 2006, an average of 129 Americans ages 65 and older were treated in emergency departments each day—a total of more than 47,000 each year—for injuries from falls that involved walkers and canes, according to a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention study published this month in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society.
In the 72 degree sun Tuesday, David Valderrama walked from Cokato to Litchfield with the cross on his shoulder. Valderrama, a 29-year-old from Tulsa, Okla. has walked from Maple Grove, Minn. to New Richmond, Wis., and from Maple Grove, Minn. to his arrival in Litchfield on Tuesday. JBS Swift Beef Company of Greeley, Colorado, in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, conducted a voluntary recall of 41,280 pounds of whole muscle cut beef products that may have been contaminated with E. coli O157:H7 bacteria.
Today, after consultation with the USDA and thorough review of our internal records, we are voluntarily expanding our recall to cover an additional 380,000 pounds of specific products produced on April 21.
