Litchfield High School class of 2008 set to graduate Sunday

As they turn their tassels, 142 seniors will become Litchfield High School graduates Sunday during the 128th annual Litchfield High School commencement.

Graduation ceremonies will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. Senior class officer Jenna Huggett will welcome family and friends.

Speaking at Sunday’s ceremony will be Taylor Berry and Jake Polingo. The two graduating seniors were selected by their classmates to give the senior addresses.

Litchfield High School will honor 13 students with high honors with grade point averages of 3.9 and above on a weighted scale or rank in the top 10 percent of their class.

Nineteen students with grade point averages of 3.6 and above, or a rank in the top 25 percent, also will receive honors. The top two students are Laura Hulterstrum and Ariel Sacher.

High school principal Mike Goodrum said the class of 2008 has been a leader for the school during the past year, both in their dedication as students and willingness to try new things.

“I think as a whole class they are going to do great things,” Goodrum said.
