As a 20+ year veteran of the military, I was disappointed when I received my May 1 circulation of the IR. Some great things happened this past week in Litchfield. The troops came hope safe after 11 months, and a local boy was drafted by an NFL team. But if you read this weeks paper, you would probably know of only one of these events.

On the front page is a full color picture and story concerning John Carlson's future NFL carrier. But you need to turn to page 7A to see a one paragraph blurb on the our troops coming home. Don't get me wrong. What John has accomplished is great, but it appears that the IR's priorities are a bit out of wack.

Hopefully, the IR will be doing an even bigger story in next weeks circulation concerning the troops coming home. So I will hold off on my rant to see if the IR can redeem them selves.
