An electrical problem could have started a rural Paynesville fire Tuesday.

Eden Valley Fire and Rescue arrived at the Walter Frank Coulter residence at 55326 365th Street, Paynesville, at 5:48 p.m. to find flames burning the exterior of the residence.

The Eden Valley Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire before the house was a total loss, according to the Meeker County Sheriff’s Department.
