An Eden Valley teen is in jail today after allegedly hitting a pedestrian with his car and fleeing the accident early this morning.
Meeker County Sheriff Deputies arrested a 19-year-old Eden Valley man after connecting him to the accident, which occurred in an Eden Valley alley around 2 a.m. Friday, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The pedestrian, Cassandra Ann Groover, 23, of Eden Valley, was taken to Paynesville Hospital. Her injuries are unknown.
Witnesses reported that Groover had been struck by a vehicle and thrown several feet into the air. They identified the driver to deputies, who found the man at his home. Evidence left at the scene matched missing parts of the man’s car, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
The 19-year-old man is currently being held at the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office with formal charges pending. The incident is under investigation.
Eden Valley Rescue and Watkins Ambulance also responded.
