The Meeker County Sheriff's Office released the names of the persons involved in a Wednesday morning accident on County Road 34.

Douglas James Steinhofer was driving a 2000 GMC Jimmy north on 34 around 9:40 a.m. when he struck the rear of a manure spreader, also northbound, the Sheriff Office reports.

Steinhofer was pinned within his Jimmy, which suffered extensive front-end damage, for about an hour and a half as crews from Gold Cross Ambulance, Litchfield Rescue and Litchfield Fire worked to extricate him.

He was airlifted to North Memorial Medical Center for unknown injuries.

The driver of the tractor pulling the loaded manure spreader, Christopher Jon Dragt of Litchfield, was not injured, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The manure spreader sustained minimal damage, but the Jimmy was a total loss.
