Eden Valley Fire Department extinguished an early morning corn dryer fire.

The fire was reported shortly after midnight Wednesday on the Steven Paul Schmitt farm on County State Aid Highway 36.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a grain bin full of corn smoking. The department cut holes in the bin to release the corn and extinguish the fire, according to the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office.

Estimates on damage to the grain bin and corn loss are unknown at this time.
