Crews from Litchfield Rescue Squad, Litchfield Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance spent more than an hour trying to extricate a man from his vehicle following an accident Wednesday morning.

The man was driving a white SUV when he rear-ended a tractor pulling a manure spreader shortly before 10 a.m. Wednesday, according to Sheriff Mike Hirman. The man was airlifted by a North Memorial Hospital helicopter. The extent of his injuries has not been released. Check back for more information.
