The National Weather Service said it received several reports of tornadoes beginning in the Alexandria area to Meeker County. In a news item on its Web site today, the Weather Service said atmospheric conditions were too dry for tornadoes and the spotted reports were actually "gustnadoes."

"A gustnado is a rotating column of air that forms as a result of turbulence along a thunderstorm gust front boundary. Gustnadoes are associated with shelf clouds, a cloud structure that is often confused with a wall cloud, which is sometimes a tornadic cloud feature. A gustnado is not a tornado, and it is not dangerous.

"On Saturday evening, the gust front boundary was clearly evident in radar data from the Chanhassen Doppler radar, and often, many of the reports occurred several miles ahead of the main area of precipitation with the squall line, which is where the gust front was located. As the shelf cloud associated with the squall line moved over the NWS office in Chanhassen, meteorologists observed the turbulence within it, seeing how it could be confused with a more dangerous wall cloud feature and consequently, result in the volume of tornado reports."

can you believe that more effort was applied here then the recent story on the sex offender info. not being posted to us citizens to protect our children?There is something definitly wrong with our law enforcement here. Just where is thier priorty list?
What are they doing? I dont think us citizens are getting what our tax dollars pays for!Dear God help us protect our children!!!!!Our law enforcement is too corrupt!

In my opinion, any judge who would tear a family apart by not allowing contact between a parent and a child (who are both of adult age and do not want the separation) either does not have children of their own or have a very poor relationship with their own children. You have to be a parent to know the unconditional love that goes along with parenting! This judge obviously knows nothing about parenting or has no parenting skills because they would never take routes such as these!!! Besides, who told these Meeker County judges that they could play GOD???

Can anyone even the law force us to not be able to have contact with our loved ones ? This to me seems very intrusive in ones rights to "family". How can anyone think that by forcing our "young adult" children to stay away from thier parents unless they wanted that but I dont think that this is the case here,would help or be good for them? I always taught my children that family is first and to always love and understand and to support each other as we are a family"unit" and one of gods most precious gifts. No wonder our county is in it's current state of family breakdown.I dont think any mental health or family therapist, or religous clergy would recommend alianation from a loved one for a recovery plan. That would be just as bad as one parent not allowing another parent the right to love and nurture achild because one is mad at the other or another family member.

Let us hope that her money managment skills superceed her people managment skills! She does not possess the right kind of attitude inregards to the people that qualify for housing. I have witnessed that for myself. I do know a few of those family's. I know she did take one woman to court for 2 days with a lawyer that normaly charges $200.00 per hour,(est.approx. cost @ min4hr-6hrs= $800.00-$1,200) and Sandi lost! That money could have made repairs to the homes I have been in. This was the christmas of 2006. I mean the very week of christmas! What a way to show those less fortunate that no giving even charitable is without a grinch! I also know another family with a down syndrome child that the HRA was to place special safety locks on the doors but as of date none has been installed that I am aware of. I met this family Oct.2005. I believe a part of the yard is required to be fenced as part of a handicap child provision . One would need to research into that further. The occupants are long term residents. And will more than likely reside there indefintley.

OhNo Lorim you are wrong...if any of those were to go to prison they would be protected from our children.( Huh....?) they would be housed with those whom they are the same part of. Such as former law enforcement,judges,lawyers and the like. They also need protection from the real "bad guys" that are there. So sad to say they are so protected in prison and "our" children are not.I know some will say they are not children. I do realize that but they will always be "our" children , and untill they have had to deal with this kind of thing they will"never" understand. I know that there is real "bad" adult "someones" child in prison, I have been in the prison to see my son. You cannot imagine the pain and fear that I have .So if anyone thinks its right what they are doing with our children well I will not feel anything godley for you.

You have not told the whole story or may be you didnt get the full story. I tried to do the same thing for my son. I called 911 because my son reported to be held by gun point by some people he met thru a girl.Once they found the car that he was riding in and I reported they pulled the car over and found that there was a major amount of drugs. The drugs belonged to the owner of the car. my son only met him 2 days before( the owner of the car had just been released from a 10yr prison sentence for bank robbery and drug sales 30days before this happened) with a girl that new the owner of the car. My son has never been in trouble before. Now he sits in prison for the next 64 months. I will NEVER call 911 again. Meeker county dosnt help family's" they demolish them!" I have never had ANY positive experiances with the sheriffs dept. By the way the police were only to stop the car and do a welfare check. Instead they did a illegal search and seizure.4 lawyers argued that fact!All inprisoned has filed for an appeal.Maybe this FBI thing will help overturn these false convictions!!!

Sounds like the same stories I have heard over and over in this county. How sad that these kids needed help and were thrown in jail instead. Sounds to me that some Meeker County Judges need some investigations done on them. How can they sleep at night? With our dirty Meeker County sheriff's department and some dirty judges (?), we can only pray that they all go down together. Someone needs to file a HUGE lawsuit against this county and perhaps this crap will stop!!! Enough already out of these overpaid, underworked, crooked criminals who run this county!!! Someday, you will be behind bars with these people who you wrongfully convicted and then as they say....'you made your bed, now lay in it'!!

I am always amazed when people become so upset about taking financial responsibility for their children.

It seems that there are some who just love playing the role of victim. This is sad. If they want my pity, they have it.

I appreciate pinchhitter's comments, and agree completely.

In addition, I would like to point out that there are now many on-line universities (even Ridgewater offers some courses on-line), where anyone with internet access can further their education, obtain a better job, and improve their lives. I think that it is safe to say that anyone who is older than the average student, has children, is low income, and has a disability, will be able to receive a great deal of financial aid. In fact they would probably be able to obtain a degree for little or nothing. But, then again, perhaps it is just easier to blame social services.

I apologize for being off topic. Perhaps a new thread should be started.

Regarding the FBI investigation: Does anyone here actually have evidence of intimidation by any department? If so, by all means call the FBI. If someone is guilty of a crime, they should receive consequences.

I know that this is the thread for the FBI article, but I feel compelled to respond to the comments about the posts from people concerning child support. First of all, child support is calculated using a standard formula. The county workers cannot just make up numbers - they have a formula they use that determines what people pay and receive for child support. Also, I understand illness firsthand, but if someone is legitimately unable to work, they will qualify for Social Security disability benefits. There are many people who live on less than the wage mentioned in this thread. There are even families who are forced to live on less than that. I do sympathize with the fact that the poster now walks with a limp, but to blame the county seems a bit far-fetched. It seems to me that he may have left out a part of the story. Furthermore, to respond to "yourhero's" post, it is sad that he can no longer work for you, but walking with a cane does not necessarily mean that you can no longer work at all.

This man who walks with a cane. Hes crippled cause he swore at Social service. Cml you think that's ok? First of all I was his boss. He worked for me for years. He cant anymore cause of his leg. We live in a world that has a lot of mistakes. We as humans make lots of them. I have made many mistakes also. God bless my wife for staying with me. That's fair a swear word for a leg .You must be employed by Social service. What kind of human being are you? I went to one of his hearings. I will tell you that this investigation into Meeker County began a very long time ago. I did know that they were coming, just not sure when. I also know that there is a lot of information already given to the FBI that warranted the investigation to be taken to this level. I trust that the FBI will take any and all measures to get the corruption out of this county. They would not be wasting their time and money if they didn't have enough evidence to believe that they can get a conviction.

People, please let the FBI know if you have information that can help them. This is the time to do it, you may not get another chance. Do not let these corrupt people intimidate or threaten you. I have no time for that kind of behavior and I have the right to speak about the corruption that I know about.

If at any time you are being threatened by someone, report it immediately. If not to the FBI, contact our Chief of Police, Pat Fank he is a wonderful guy and I believe that he will do what he can to protect you. We need more people like him in offices in this county! There are very few people in this county that I trust but Pat Fank is one of them!!

Several years ago I came across corrupt information and began my own investigating. People in this county (certain offices that is) didn't like it and I was offered money to shut up! As you can see, I didn't take the money because this isn't about money, it's about human lives, honestly and integrity which is lacking in this county!!!

Please remember that in the United States of America someone is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Unless you wish to sink to a level at or below that of those you are bashing, hold your comments. There are proper ways to file charges against a Social Services Department in Minnesota. You can file with the state Department of Health Education and Welfare. As far as any investigation, I say contact the FBI if you have relevant information and they can process it. These blogs do seem to indicate there might be a problem. That problem may be perception or not taking a good look at the party involved in the problem. I have handled many upset people. My observations are that the difficulty often is miscommuncation. This can be poor listening or poor speaking. Then the other factor is word of mouth with no insight to both sides. I have seen an issue relayed by one party that was relayed a completely different way by the other party. Have there been problems. YES Has there been a crime? That is what is being investigated. Investigated does not mean it happened only that someone is trying to gather enough information to warrent going farther. This is like cookies missing from a cookie jar. Well the mom has to ask questions, not blame one child over another. Some times you find a child did take the cookie, sometimes you find dad did and sometimes you find out you counted wrong to begin with. What you do not do is go online and call a child a thief without asking the questions. You also do not listen to tattle tails who may have a vested intrest in not taking any blame themself. Be polite to your social worker, be polite to an officer, because you know very well if you spit on someone they will not help you process anything. You don't take that why should they. I heard a sad story here until I reread it and it said someone was swearing. I can tell you if you swear at me you will get nothing. No one has to take that.
