Why is it there is even a debate about the, "opera house?" This building has been in decrepit condition for years and is not worth fixing, much less spending a minimum of $100,000 dollars on.
Yes it is an old building, but wouldn't we rather have an outdoor swimming pool? How about some street repairs, half the streets are falling to pieces. This building is worthless, so why not take some nice pictures to put up in Mainstreet Cafe and then raze it. I am not against preservation of historical buildings if they offer the community something, eg. the GAR Hall.
Why would anybody want to save this building when there are so many other things we could use in Litchfield?
