Eli Manning has taken a lot...
Back to page topEli Manning has taken a lot of grief — much of it deserved — for his lack of leadership. I think he answered those critics by leading the game-winning drive last night. What an incredible play he made escaping from the Patriots' rush, avoiding the sack and making the long completion to David Tyree on third-and-five. I've had great appreciation for the Patriots and Bill Belichick for a while, but I was rooting for the Giants late in the game.
One bad thing about the Giants' upset win -- we will have to continue to listen to Mercury Morris rant about the greatness of the '72 Dolphins every time an NFL team starts the season with an undefeated run.
