Biggest fish

What is the largest fish you have caught in Lake Ripley?

Independent Review General Manager Brent Schacherer and Sports Editor Lyle Diekmann have photos on their bulletin boards at work from fishing expeditions with outdoors columnist Bill Resman. I wonder how big the fish from those fishing trips were?

It's funny how you can forget the size of a trophy fish, but I seem to have forgotten the size of the lunkers I landed on my fishing outing three years ago with Bill Resman.

Here's a hint though: It was my first time fishing since I was a teenager, I used equipment that Bill loaned me, and I didn't go fishing again until an expedition to a lake in Canada early this past spring.

I'm not much of an outdoorsman, but I do appreciate all the lakes we have in Meeker County. I would welcome an invitation from any other expert anglers out there who have the patience to teach a novice how be successful fishing on Meeker County's lakes.

I landed an 80 pound marlin right behind Peter's. He fought like hell and I was sore for 3 days after, but what a nice catch. It was so awesome. After we got that monster untangled we threw him back. I have been trying to catch him again every summer since then.
