Completely false. Sheriff Hirman has not been arrested. Your comment reminds me of the old telephone game. Your mother-in-law heard from her mom, who heard from her neighbor, who heard from someone else ....??? Any chance that story got twisted and embellished along the way?

LitchRes is correct. If something like that had happened, the Independent Review would have covered it, just as we did the original story regarding the FBI being in town.

I think it's time for all conspiracy theorists to take a deep breath and wait for the truth to come out. I understand it may be frustrating to not hear anything on this story. But it's ridiculous to continue to spread rumors. Many of the posters on this site say they want the truth to come out, yet they do nothing but spread rumors, make up stories and complain about perceived wrongs.

I thank LitchRes and JimDandy for trying to introduce at least a modicum of reason into these comment strings. I hope others will think before they post and forget trying to spread rumor and innuendo simply to make other people's lives miserable.

Responsible comments are appreciated. Outlandish lies are not. I encourage everyone to read the user agreement again.

friends my last post. When I was a kid we had the Pledge of Allegiance.The last words to this was and Justice for all. My grand children dont say it anymore. Why cause its not true anymore. Friends we have a perfect storm coming soon. The war in Iraq, border problems,recession,oil and other problems.Make a stand tell our candidate's political we are sick of this bs. My grandfather was in world war 2. He smoked but most of all he was free free free. Brent whats wrong truth hurts. Did Tagen pull there adds? I said this county cant handle the truth ,and it cant.

Jim Dandy, many people are very upset that so much information and truth was removed from this site and refuse to even come here anymore. Some have had a real hard time trusting people becuase of the things they have experienced in this county and then the removal of their posts made them feel that it was just proving to them that they couldn't even trust the local paper.

One of the 'regulars' is in the process of getting a site up and running so that the discussions can take place there. You can bet that the website will be well advertized and people will get the address to it.

And yeah, you aren't kidding when you say this isn't over yet! I cannot wait until this all wraps up. I just have to pray that our county commissioenrs are smart enough to go outside the department to fill the position of SHERIFF!

I know I am a new poster here . I have been following for awhile now.

I remember a storie of a child recieving a broken bone while held in fostercare. That's completly unexceptable!

I remember that most of the posters (reg. joe's) along with a store owner and former county employee's have all stated some kind of grievence.

It all look's as the county has alot of explaining to do.

How can all of those who posted here be lieing? Im sure no one here really knows each other, so how did you all get together and decide to make up your stories of corruption?

I hope th FBI has or is investigationg all of meeker county. It would be a waste of time, energy,money otherwise.Just wrap it all up in a neat little package and send it off where it's deserved!

It seems that most comments made were by people that had a resentment against law enforcement. I agree with Brent removing the comments. I have only posted once, asking someone who reportedly lost a million dollars to validate their post with the name of who took their home, they refused. Other questions were asked by other posters without answers. Someone commented that the county is 'run' by the Eagles....I want to know which one, the Eagles board of directors,the members,the patrons, people driving by the club, or the rock group Eagles??? Some posts were very good, people with insight and information. There were many other posts that were rants and raves. Perhaps this post also could be included in that group. It is hard for someone like me,someone without resentment for law enforcement,to believe a poster who will not validate an accusation, or give themselves some credibility. Mike Hirman has been elected/re-elected how many times...at least 4 terms, and as someone posted he is innocent until PROVEN guilty. He has not been arrested and if he is arrested there will still be a trial. Lets not get ahead of ourselves. Before anyone accuses me of being a'good old boy' I have on more than one election donated money to and displayed political signs for his opponent.

Hey Jim Dandy, I went back over all the posts on this subject of FBI @ Meeker and really reread your posts. You answered alot of justice seekers reasonings. One inparticular stood out. you said "not the treatment of jail inmates rather it is what goes on in the jail. Well can you answer that? What did or does go on in the jail?

Hey Stan it looks like your mystery is going to be solved soon. KLFD is reporting that the attorney in Anoka is looking at the FBI case for criminal charges. I wonder who could be facing criminal charges? It's not a good day when the FBI comes in to investigate a certain department then they send the file to a prosecutor for charging purposes.

It is obvious that there is a reason to keep the case open. Perhaps they are still collecting information. I hope Hirman doesn't think he is completely off the hook and goes right back to his dirty ways. For example..... about a year ago you peppered sprayed an inmate in the Meeker County jail, he was locked in his cell, then you refused to let him shower for 3 days.....remember him? Or, did that happen so often that you can't remember? Well, he will never forget it!! I know this young man very well and I have told him that he should speak to an attorney about another lawsuit!! What was done to him is illegal as well!!!
I hope the public and some of the ex-employees now realize how important it is for them to get their information to the FBI!!! Quit sitting on your butts and expecting everyone else to talk....it's time to make a change!!! As for Beckman, I think it's the first smart thing she has done for this county and I think she pretty much had too!!! If she can protect Hirman in any way, shape or form, I believe she will!!!

Curious article on the front page of the IR this week about the part-time officers with the sheriff's department. I see that these guys have been working for quite some time for the department, why now for doing the article? Absolutely nothing against these guys but why would the head guy at that department want this article now? Why not 1 1/2 years ago when the last of these guys was hired? Could it be he is trying to get some "good press" to deflect the bad press that is sure to come? (I hope these guys and the IR know the department big wigs are using them for their own personal gain) Of course we haven't heard anything from Anoka County in a while, which begs the question, did the head guy pull his "good ol boy club card" with Anoka county to make things go away? Hopefully justice will prevail but if not, the citizens of meeker county will have to take care of the situation at the next election, that guy doesn't deserve to be in office any longer. I wonder when they did this article if the IR asked the sheriff or any of the deputies what is happening with the investigation? Just wondering.
